Watson Receives MAC West Honors, Again

MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan University guard Giordan Watson of Birmingham (Mich.) Groves High School and Bridgton Academy has been named Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week for the second straight week.

Giordan Watson led Central Michigan to a win over Big Ten foe Michigan by posting a game-high 22 points, four assists and three steals in the Chippewas' lone game last Saturday.

He scored 15 points in the second half as CMU never trailed in the second frame. It marked CMU's first win over a Big Ten team since the Chippewas defeated the Wolverines in 2003.

Watson also moved up two spots to fifth on CMU's career scoring chart with 1,408 career points. He now ranks in the top five in CMU history for career points, assists and steals.
