Chippewas Insider has learned that defensive back John Carr of Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas High School has verbally committed to Central Michigan University.
A 6-foot-2, 190-pounder, Carr recorded 43 tackles and three interceptions this season to help lead St. Thomas Aquinas to a 15-1 overall record and the Florida Class 5A State Championship.
Carr becomes the eighth Florida prep player and 19th recruit overall in the Chippewas 2008 recruiting class.
