Miller Named to Rimington Trophy Watch List

MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan University offensive lineman Colin Miller of Centreville (Va.) High School is one of 42 players named to the preseason watch list for the 2008 Rimington Trophy.

The Rimington Trophy is presented annually to the top center in college football.

Colin Miller started all 14 games at center as a redshirt freshman for the Chippewas in 2007, garnering Freshman All-America honors from Sporting News and collegefootballnews.com. He was part of an offensive line that led the way for the only offense to rank in the top four in the MAC in scoring, rushing, passing and total offense in 2007.

Miller is one of just two players from the MAC to make the Rimington Trophy watch list, and he is the only player on the list from a school in the state of Michigan.

Central Michigan won its second consecutive MAC title in 2007, defeating Miami in the MAC Championship Game. The Chippewas open the 2008 season at home against Eastern Illinois on Thursday, Aug. 28.
