Chippewas Insider has learned that offensive lineman Aaron Kaczmarski of Merrillville (Ind.) High School has verbally committed to Central Michigan University.
A 6-foot-6, 245-pounder, Kaczmarski helped lead Merrillville to a 12-2 overall record and regional championship this past season. Although he plays tight end and defensive end for the Pirates, Kaczmarski could play offensive or defensive tackle for the Chippewas.
Kaczmarski reportedly chose CMU over scholarship offers from Ball State and Eastern Michigan. He becomes the third verbal commitment in the Chippewas' 2009 recruiting class, joining wide receiver Cody Wilson and running back Malek Redd.
