Simons Schedules Three Official Visits

Small Forward Ben Simons of Cadillac (Mich.) High School is one of the top players in the state of Michigan's 2009 recruiting class. This weekend Simons is taking his first official visit.

Chippewas Insider has learned that small forward Ben Simons of Cadillac (Mich.) High School is taking an official visit this weekend (Sept. 12-14) to Drake University.

The 6-foot-8, 190-pound Simons has also reportedly scheduled official visits to Providence College next weekend (Sept. 19-21) and Wisconsin Green Bay for the weekend of Oct. 3-5.

Simons has already been offered a scholarship by all three schools, in addition to Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Baylor and Utah.

In an earlier interview, Simons told Chippewas Insider that CMU and WMU are among his finalists but that he would probably not take official visits to the two Mid-American Conference rival schools since he is already very familiar with both programs.

Simons is expected to make a decision on his college choice some time in October before the November early signing period.
