Members of Western Michigan's ROTC will embark on the Rivalry Run at approximately 4:30 a.m. Friday. Twenty runners will work together to run the ball 55 miles to Fifth/Third Ballpark, home of the West Michigan Whitecaps, in Comstock Park.
The ball will change hands from WMU's ROTC to Central Michigan at approximately 1 p.m. in the parking lot of Fifth/Third Ballpark.
From there, 26 members of CMU's ROTC will cover the 85 miles from Comstock Park to Mount Pleasant. The ball is expected to arrive in Mount Pleasant at approximately 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
On Saturday, Cadet Battalion Commander Chris Cooper will enter Kelly/Shorts Stadium just prior to kickoff and present the game ball to game officials.
Kickoff of Saturday's game between the Chippewas (4-2 overall, 3-0 Mid-American Conference) and Broncos (6-1, 4-0 MAC) is set for noon.
