During the segment, College Gameday Final hosts Rece Davis, Mark May and Lou Holtz each recognize two standout performances from across the country. Davis's first selection was Brian Brunner, who completed 20-of-28 passes for 346 yards and a touchdown in the Chippewas' 38-28 win over Western Michigan on Saturday. Brunner was a game-time decision to make just his third career start and first since Sept. 30, 2006.
Brunner is the second CMU player in the last two seasons to earn an ESPN Helmet Sticker. Dan LeFevour was recognized after throwing for 185 yards and a touchdown and rushing for 170 yards and two scores in CMU's 35-10 win over Miami in the 2007 Mid-American Conference Championship Game.
Central Michigan (5-2 overall, 4-0 MAC) begins a three-game road trip this weekend at Toledo. Kickoff is set for noon. ESPN Regional will televise the contest.
