Rodriguez Commits to the Chippewas

The Central Michigan University football program received a verbal commitment today from another Florida prep standout who visited campus this past weekend.

Chippewas Insider has learned that defensive end Caesar Rodriguez of Miami Columbus High School verbally committed to Central Michigan this afternoon.

A 6-foot-3, 215-pounder, Rodriguez had just taken an official visit to campus this past weekend. He also considered offers from Western Michigan, where he was reportedly scheduled to visit this weekend, Western Kentucky, Louisiana-Lafayette and Florida International.

Rodriguez, who recruited by CMU defensive line coach Paul Volero, becomes the third player in the Chippewas 2009 recruiting class earmarked for defensive end, joining Justice Akuezue and Jarrett Fleming.
