Texas Guard Signs with the Chippewas

The Central Michigan University men's basketball program has signed a combo guard to its 2009 recruiting class.

Guard Finis Craddock of Garland (Texas) High School has signed with Central Michigan University while on an official visit to campus this weekend.

Craddock averaged 18.3 points, four assists and four rebounds per game this past season while leading Garland High to a 23-8 overall record.

Craddock was named 1st Team All-District and 2nd Team All Region for the Fighting Owls. Craddock was also nominated as a McDonalds All-American. He played for the LBA Seawolves AAU program. Craddock also had offers and interest from SMU, TCU, Wichita State, Santa Clara, Oral Roberts and North Texas, among other schools.

He joins power forward Tyler Brown of Eau Claire (Wisc.) North High School in the Chippewas 2009 recruiting class.

Thye Chippewas still have two scholarships remaining for their 2009 recruitng class. Among the other players CMU is recruitng are 6-foot-7, 240-pound power forward William McClure of Lake Land (Ill.) College, 5-9 point guard Amir Rashid of Trinity Valley (Texas) Community College and 5-9 point guard Phil Gary of Chicago's Malcolm X Community College.

McClure and Rashid are taking official visits to CMU this weekend along with Craddock. McClure is expected to decide between his three reported finalists, CMU, UIC and Eastern Illinois.

Gary visited the Chippewas April 9-10 and is taking an offical visit to USC this weekend. He also considered an offer from DePaul before reportedly narrowing his list to CMU and USC.
