Power forward William McClure of Lake Land (Ill.) Community College has signed a letter of intent with Central Michigan University.
A 6-foot-7, 240-pounder, McClure is expected to provide immediate help in the post for a CMU team that loses Marcus Van. This season, he averaged eight points and 10 rebounds per game for the Lakers.
McClure, who prepped at Indianapolis Pike High School before playing at Lake Land the past two seasons, will have two years of eligibility for the Chippewas. He reportedly picked CMU over his other two finalists, Eastern Illinois and UIC.
McClure joins power forward Tyler Brown of Eau Claire (Wisc.) North High School and guard Finis Craddock of Garland (Texas) High School in the Chippewas' 2009 recruiting class.
CMU still has one scholarship remaining and is expected to sign a point guard with the final scholarship. Among the point guards CMU is actively recruiting are Amir Rashid of Trinity Valley (Texas) Community College and Phil Gary of Chicago's Malcolm X Community College.
