Bell Commits to CMU

The Central Michigan University football program secured its seventh verbal commitment earlier this evening from a Michigan defensive back.

Chippewas Insider has learned that defensive back Steven Bell of Detroit Cooley High School has verbally committed to Central Michigan University.

Bell becomes the seventh overall verbal commitment and sixth commitment from the state of Michigan in the Chippewas' 2010 recruiting class.

A 6-foot-2, 185-pound safety, Bell also considered offers from Toledo and Eastern Michigan and had recruiting interest from a number of other schools, including Michigan State and Iowa.

Bell is scheduled to visit CMU this Sunday for the Chippewas' 5-Star Recruiting Day.
