Brown Named to Biletnikoff Award Watch List

MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan University junior wide receiver Antonio Brown has been named to the Fred Biletnikoff Award watch list.

Central Michigan's Antonio Brown is one of 37 players nationwide named to the watch list for the award, presented annually by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club to the top receiver in college football.

The winner of the Biletnikoff Award will be announced as part of ESPN's College Football Awards Show on Dec. 10. The award will be officially presented to the winner at the annual Biletnikoff Award dinner, hosted by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club, on Feb. 12, 2010.

Brown, an All-Mid-American Conference first team selection as a receiver, punt returner and kickoff returner in 2008, ranks second in school history in career receptions (195), seventh in receiving yards (2,001) and tied for seventh in touchdown receptions (13). He holds the top two single-season receptions totals in school history with 102 catches in 2007 and 93 in 2008.

Brown led the nation in punt return yardage (20.5 ypr) and ranked fourth in all-purpose yards (178.1 ypg) in 2008. He caught at least 10 passes in four different games and had three 100-yard receiving games, finishing the year with 93 catches for 998 yards and seven touchdowns.

Brown was named MAC Special Teams Player of the Year in 2008 and MAC Freshman of the Year in 2007. He was a consensus Freshman All-American after catching 102 passes for 1,003 yards and six touchdowns and setting a Bowl Subdivision freshman record with 2,267 all-purpose yards. Brown has caught a pass in all 27 games of his career.
