Harden Commits to the Chippewas

The Central Michigan men's basketball program is on a roll. A day after receiving a verbal commitment from Nate VanArendonk, another standout Michigan prep player has verbally committed to the Chippewas.

Chippewas Insider has learned that forward Jevon Harden of Detroit Loyola High School has verbally committed to Central Michigan.

An athletic 6-foot-8 forward, Harden played AAU ball with Team Detroit. He chose CMU over reported offers from Bowling Green, Stony Brook and Idaho State.

Harden becomes the fourth commitment in the Chippewas' 2010 recruiting class, joining guard Derek Jackson of Cleveland Benedictine; power forward Colin Voss of East Grand Rapids (Mich.) High School; and center Nate VanArendonk of Grand Haven (Mich.) High School.

CMU still has one scholarship remaining for its 2010 class and is targeting wing Trey Zeigler of Mount Pleasant (Mich.) High School, the son of CMU head coach Ernie Zeigler.
