Chippewas Insider has learned that wide receiver Jason Wilson of Farmington (Mich.) High School has verbally committed to Central Michigan University.
A 6-foot-0, 170-pounder, Wilson chose the Chippewas over an offer from Akron and recruiting interest from Michigan State, Illinois, Indiana and Toledo, among other schools.
He becomes the sixth overall commitment in the Chippewas' 2011 recruiting class and the third Michigan prep player to commit to CMU this week. On Friday, quarterback Alex Niznak and offensive lineman Ramadan Ahmeti committed to the Chippewas.
