This team desperately needs a big man who is some sort of offensive threat! Jackson swatted everything in sight tonight and contributed 7 points off the bench , but a big who can post up turn and score would be nice! To be honest its been since Kenyon left that the Cats have had that inside presence! I sure hope Kilpatrick comes back next year because a big man wont be the only hole to fill! Losing him and Wright would be a big blow to the squad! That being said landing a player of Lawerence's status is a must for the Cats!
You see what we all see sir. I agree with ya. Soft inside on Offense. They act like they don't want the ball at times, here you take it I dont want it stuff. Lack o confidence maybe? Poor shooting, tentative at times to take it to the hoop.......but they sure play D. Give us an inside scorer we'd jump to top oooo 12 or better. Nyarsuk should improve, and mooj, etc......but it would be nice to have a scorer inside.
I agree they play hard and good D! I love how hard they play ,but your right it's like they are playing hot potatoe with the ball!lol! Gaines saw alot of action tonight, and i was kind of hoping for that! Last year when Gates was suspended and they went on their run he filled in decently! He has a little less akwardness i guess to him offensively, although tonight don't recall him shooting! I'm not dogging them or the effort, but just hoping for an upgrade next year!
O course you arent doggin them, I agree with ya, bout everyone of us on here will too imo. It is frustrating as hell to watch the O sometimes. Our best plays are off blocks and TO's imo. To have a strong interior halfcourt scoring presence should be top priority imho. Someone will step up, ......right? I hope so.
I said almost the exact same thing to my buddy at the game last night (this was after watching Jackson try a spinning 180 layup, which he airballed, and then have Rubles come in and decide not to shoot on two different occasions being wide open less than 6ft away from the basket). Lawrence would start at the 4 for us next year and make an instant impact on a good basketball team. If that isn't enough to sell him to come here, I dont know what will.

Not at all. This is a great addition to the class. Best recruit we have grabbed in a long time. You just specifically mentioned that we need him because of his low post scoring and I was pointing out that it isn't really his style of play. Despite being 6'10", he is more of a wing player than he is a prototypical big man. He is really more of a 3 who will play the 4 for us, but more of a 4 like Rubles is who starts his offense from the perimeter and the high post, not by catching the ball on the block.
