Derrek Ross Talks Bearcats Visit

One of the top offensive line prospects in Southwest Ohio for the Class of 2012 talks about his recent visit with the Bearcats.

This past Saturday, Derrek Ross of Cincinnati (Ohio) Oak Hills High School visited Cincinnati for their battle against Syracuse. How was the visit?

"It was a lot of fun and I thought they had some great facilities. I know they have a great engineering program and that is what I am interested in majoring in."

While Ross knows his academic interest can be filled at UC, how did he see the football program on the field?

"It was a hard game to watch, but I like their offense and how they run it."

As for what recruits did prior to the game, Derrek said he learned some but is looking forward to seeing more.

"We watched a presentation and then coaches introduced themselves before a little tour of Varsity Village and then it was off to the game."

So far Derrek has visited only a few programs.

"I have been to Northwestern and Cincinnati so far. We are planning a few more visits as well."

One area Derrek will find college coaches loving is his academic work.

"I have a 3.96 GPA and got a 27 on the ACT last year."

Bearcat Insider will be checking back in the future for more on Derrek and his recruitment.
