APSU 2010 Record: 2-9
Series History: Cincinnati leads 4-0 (last meeting UC 42-10, 1993)
The highest scoring offense in the BIG EAST returns to the gridiron when it hosts Austin Peay. It's the first meeting between the two teams since UC waxed the Governors 42-10 in 1993.
Austin Peay struggled on both sides of the football last season, finished next to last in scoring offense (18.9) and last in scoring defense (38.2).
Quarterback Jake Ryan will be making his 15th start at the helm after completing half his passes and throwing for 1,120 yards with seven touchdowns and 11 interceptions. The primary back in the Governors two-back system, senior Ryan White returns for his last hurrah. He led the team in carries and was second with 69.9 yards per game.
Defensively, Austin Peay returns its top five tacklers, although having four of those players residing in your defensive secondary isn't ideal. The Governors also struggled getting pressure on the quarterback, managing just 10 sacks in 11 games.
Usually making calls on season openers are tricky, but in this case Cincinnati has too much talent offensively to allow this game to be close.
