UTEP Commit Will Take His Visits

MeKale McKay committed to the UTEP Miners in October, but says that he still wants to take visits to other schools. Find out which schools he will visit below.

When three-star wide receiver MeKale McKay gave his commitment to UTEP in October, he was very excited about the opportunity to play both basketball and football for the Miners.

Fast-forward a couple of months, and McKay is planning on taking a few visits to other schools to make sure that he is seeing everything that is out there.

"I'm still committed to UTEP right now, but I'm planning on taking all of my visits so I don't sell myself short," McKay said. "I want to take visits to Michigan, Cincinnati and West Virginia."

McKay, who played quarterback, wide receiver, cornerback and safety for his Moore (KY) High School team this season, took an unofficial visit to Cincinnati this past weekend and says that he plans on taking his official visit to UC sometime in January.

Even through his commitment, McKay has continued to keep some contact with the Bearcat coaching staff.

"I call them a couple of times a month. I talk to the wide receiver coach (T.J. Weist) and I talk a lot to Coach (Butch) Jones. Basically, they want me to come and help out the program. They believe that I can pick up their expectations."

McKay says that he does not know when he is going to take his visits to West Virginia or Michigan, but that he will set those up in the near future.

For the time being, however, McKay wants to make one thing clear.

"I'm still committed to UTEP. I just want to take the rest of my visits."
