Today we will be looking at the quarterback position.
The Legaux era got off to an early start when the Bearcats lost Zach Collaros to an injury midway through the season. While he played relatively well, there will be no shortage of candidate looking to take over.
Luallen, a transfer from Georgia Tech, battled Legaux for the back-up position and was able to contribute with a package built around his skill set. The sleeper of the bunch is Kay, who has battled injuries throughout his career.
Depending on his development over the spring, it wouldn't shock me if Coyne found himself at another position.
Coney and Norvell have enrolled early and will take part of spring practice. Coney is ahead of Norvell in terms of quarterbacking skills, but both will probably take a redshirt this season.
MY TAKE: This is a tough one to call. It reminds of the Collaros/Chazz Anderson situation of a couple years ago. In the aftermath of an injury, Anderson took over for the Bearcats, but in the long run it wound up being Collaros' job and Anderson eventually left the program. However, ultimately, I see Legaux winning the job. Unfortunately for Luallen, the move to Cincinnati hasn't been as beneficial to his playing career.
