Kilgore High On Hometown Team

Over the years Cincinnati (OH) St. Xavier High School has produced several players to go on to successful college career. In the 2013 recruiting class wide receiver Trey Kilgore looks to be another ready to prove his worth. Kilgore, who recently visited the Bearcats talks about his on campus visit and interest in the hometown team.

Over the past few months Cincinnati (OH) St. Xavier wide receiver Trey Kilgore has seen his recruiting get a kick start. With a couple of offers in hand, Kilgore is starting to get a feel for who has interest.

"I recently received three offers," said Kilgore. "Kent State, Akron and Miami Ohio have all offered now. I've also been on a couple of visits to Illinois, Cincinnati and Northwestern."

While the Bearcats have yet to offer, Kilgore is being encouraged to stay close to the hometown team.

"UC said they want me to keep close to them and keep coming up and building a connection with them," said Kilgore. "They feel I'm a good prospect for them and they want to keep that relationship for now."

A recent spring practice showed Kilgore what he wanted to see on the field and he knows the Bearcats have what he's looking for in academics.

"I went up to practice the other day and the football is really up tempo," he said. "The players were really getting after it and the hitting was hard and intense. That is definitely the kind of football I want to play.

"I really like UC in terms of football and academics because I want to major in radiology or engineering and UC has a great, great medical school and really good engineering program."
