Ernst Looks To Join Brother

Cincinnati (OH) McNicholas quarterback Austin Ernst has seen several teams express interests in seeing him throw this spring and summer. One program Ernst hopes to impress he knows a lot about.

The chance of earning a scholarship offer from Cincinnati has caught the attention of local high school quarterback Austin Ernst.

Ernst, whose brother Eric is on the Bearcats football team as a punter is one reason for the high interest. However, there are other things that have the 6-foot-1 quarterback's interest peaked.

"I've been a big UC fan all my life and I grown up around it," explained Ernst. "Now with my brother there it would be something that really interests me. Because of my brother I know a bunch of the players and a lot of the coaches as I'm around UC fairly often and kind of know my way around a little bit."

Ernst knows Butch Jones and his staff is not going to just hand over a scholarship to him because of his family.

"They are having me come to their quarterback camp and also their senior camp," said Ernst. I'll be attending both of them."

Besides UC, Ernst also has plans to attend some other camps this summer.

"I'll be attending camps at Purdue and Boston College this summer," he said. "Toledo and Akron are both holding one-day camps in the area and I'll be attending them as well."
