After practice on Monday, BearcatInsider.com was able to spend a few minutes talking with senior defensive back Camerron Cheatham.

Here are some of his thoughts on the program and the upcoming season.

On being a leader and one of the upperclassmen.

"Its part of being a senior," said Cheatham. "Today we were a little dead, Walter Stewart is usually our vocal leader, and he needs some help sometimes. We got Dan Giordano, he's a vocal leader too. I'm not the only vocal leader, today you just happened to see me doing it"

On any underclassmen who have impressed him during camp.

"Leviticus Payne has played good, Jeremy Graves of course, those two are the few that standout now," said Cheatham. "I think [Josh] Posley has been playing good too. We've got a lot of good freshmen; Coach Jones knows how to recruit."

On preparing for Pitt.

"Every day we do a little Pitt prep," explained Cheatham. "That's the first game, a Big East game. We're just getting ready, looking at some of their plays"

On Cincinnati's upcoming year.

"We only strive for championships here," said Cheatham. "I think we'll have a great season. I think we'll give the fans what they want, and yeah, I think we'll get a Big East championship."
