After practice on Wednesday, I was able to talk with Cincinnati sophomore running back Ralph David Abernathy IV on his game and the upcoming season.

Q: How did you feel after your breakout game against Pitt?

A: "I would just say it was a good game. For us to come out of the gate like that, playing with so much energy, we went out there and handled out business and won our first game of the season."

Q: How pleased was Coach Jones with your game one performance?

A: "Coach Jones said it was just another win, it was just game one. We have keep going and keep gaining momentum. We just focus on our next opponent after every game and keep going."

Q: Are there any players than you grew up watching or currently watch that you try and model your game after?

A: "There aren't too many guys that are my size in the league. If I had to say one guy who I really idolized growing up it would be Barry Sanders, with his ability to make people miss with his quickness and speed and things like that."

Q: How does playing well and getting these big wins prepare you guys for success with the rest of the season?

A: "We just say every game is just another game, it's just the beginning of what we can do as a team. If we come out and continue to play and continue to get better we're going to have a great year."
