After practice on Wednesday, I was able to talk with Cincinnati redshirt junior offensive lineman Austen Bujnoch on UC's early 5-0 start and the rest of the 2012 season.

Q: Was it hard to not get caught up in the hype with being undefeated early on?

A: "Being 5-0 is great, that's what you stride for. Staying undefeated comes down to our mentality each week, we're hungry to win. A lot of undefeated teams get complacent and go into a hostile environment. We're trying to stay level headed and just keep working ."

Q: Is it easier blocking for a back like George Winn?

A: "Going from Isiah Pead to George Winn has been great. You've got George, who if you give him a crack, he's going to bust through it. I love George, he's a great pass protector, a great runner. He breaks a big run, runs over a guy, gets back up and keeps going. It gets us all pumped up."

Q: Now that you are in the heart of Big East play, how has the intensity changed at practice?

A: "We can't change it too much, we can't get too crazy. We've got to stay consistent and keep our heads down. Each week is going to get harder and harder if we keep winning, each team is going to have us marked up on the schedule."

Q: Have you been looking towards the end of the season at all in regards to a BCS bowl berth?

A: "It's hard not to sometimes. My freshmen year here we went 12-0, and I didn't really do anything. Now that I'm playing a lot, you just have to go week by week. You can't look ahead, you just have to take it game by game. That's what the older guys need to help the younger guys do."
