"It was surreal, being out there for the last time, going through the "Cat Walk", Winn said, "It really didn't hit me until we got out there and met with our parents, then I realized it was my last game here, it was pretty intense."
With Winn, the numbers cannot tell the whole story. The senior has defined what Cincinnati football is all about this season. He runs with an aggression and confidence that makes him one of the most exciting players in the Big East. Much like the team he plays for, Winn wasn't the most highly recruited player or the most physically talented athlete, but he plays with a chip on his shoulder that makes him great, and it showed throughout this 2012 season.
After each touchdown, you could see the genuine excitement and happiness exchanged between Winn and his fellow players and coaches. The senior has become a leader on this team, and while not the most vocal of guys, he leads by example. Young players see a guy who puts in the hard work at practice and it reflects in his in-game performance.
As a senior, Winn and his fellow classmates are starting to look at how their legacy will be remembered in Cincinnati football lore.
"I hope we'll be remembered for being one of the winningest classes we've had here. I'm proud of us, I'm proud of everyone that came in with me, and it's amazing that we've come this far.", said Winn.
From myself and the rest of Bearcat nation, we're proud of you too, George.
