Flick Hears From Bearcats

After Butch Jones departed Cincinnati for Tennessee recruits like Ben Flick wondered about their status with the Bearcats. Tuesday night Flick heard from the Bearcats for the first time and came away excited.

Hamilton (Ohio) offensive lineman Ben Flick has been wondering what his future would be with Cincinnati since the day Butch Jones left for Tennessee.

Following the hiring of Tommy Tuberville, Flick waited for someone on the Bearcats new coaching staff to reach out and talk about his future. That happened Tuesday night.

"I just got off the phone with one of the new coaches," said Flick. "It's all happened so fast I can't remember his name off the top of my head, but he said Coach Tuberville is honoring all the scholarships and there will be a new offensive line coach hired in the next day or two."

Other colleges took notice of the uncertainty surrounding Bearcat pledges and wasted little time in reaching out to prospects hoping to get them on their campus.

Flick understands this is a business and waited to hear from Cincinnati before moving forward.

"I really like Cincinnati and look forward to being a Bearcat," said Flick. "I was waiting to hear from someone and it seems like everything will be good and I can stay committed to UC."
