Hometown Standout Holds Bearcats High

One of the fast rising prospects in Southwest Ohio holds a Cincinnati offer and is excited about the hometown team.

New head coach Tommy Tuberville and his staff are working hard to make sure local talent remembers Cincinnati is one of the more successful college programs and in their own backyard.

A new offer was extended to Mariemont High School offensive lineman Jon Bezney and the 6-foot-5, 275-pounder is listening and excited about the Bearcats.

"Offensive line coach (Darren) Hiller came to school to see me lift and I like him a lot," said Bezney. "He seems really personable and he talked about some of the guys they have from the area already at UC.

"They have two guys from Madeira, one on scholarship and the other a walk-on. I talked with him and plan on going down to campus to meet Coach Tuberville and some of the other coaches and look at the campus next Thursday."

Already holding offers from Kentucky and Louisville, Bezney likes what the hometown program has to offer.

"Cincinnati is a big school for me," explained Bezney. "I'm excited about it especially with the close proximity to home. But at the same time I don't feel like I'll feel that I'm at home at all. I'm thinking of studying pre-med so Cincinnati would be a great school for me and I'm very excited about the offer."
