Scales Talks Hometown Offer

Local linebacker Tegray Scales talks about his new offer from the hometown team.

Over the years the Cincinnati Bearcats have reaped the benefits of having great high school football in its backyard. With players from Elder, La Salle, Colerain and others the Bearcats have used local talent to take the program to new heights.

Now, head coach Tommy Tuberville is looking to mine the local talent and has started with an offer to Colerain linebacker Tegray Scales.

"Cincinnati just offered me and I was very surprised," said Scales. "They really haven't offered that many guys from Cincinnati with the new coaching staff. But I spoke with Coach (Art) Kaufman and he wanted me to come up to camp. So I'll be going up there with my team for a team camp."

For a player like Scales an offer from the hometown team was important.

"I'm not sure where I want to go to school yet," explained Scales. "So this was real important offer because they are the hometown team. So I was excited and look forward to learning more about them."
