Tranquill Talks Bearcats Visit

One of the fast rising prospects in the Midwest is outside linebacker Drue Tranquill. We caught up with Tranquill at the Sound Mind Sound Body Camp about his recent visit to Cincinnati.

The summer of 2013 will soon be remembered as the summer Fort Wayne (IN) Carroll outside linebacker Drue Tranquill exploded upon the football scene.

At just over 6-foot-2, 208-pounds, Tranquill continued to open eyes during the Sound Mind Sound Body Camp.

"It was great opportunity to come out here," said Tranquill. "The camp directors and coaches gave us a chance to come out here and earn ourselves a college scholarship.

One reason Tranquill is a late comer to the college football recruiting world is because of his baseball background. However, that all changed following his Army All-American Coming in San Antonio (TX) early this year.

"I wasn't on the camp circuit last year as I was focused on baseball," explained Tranquill. "But I went down to the Army Combine in San Antonio (TX) and got a good vibe. I also got connected with AWP (Athletes With Purpose).

"So I found that passion and started the camp circuit. I had already picked up some offers going into the camp season but some bigger offers are starting to come I think."

Tranquill recently visited Cincinnati and was able to meet a coach he grew up idolizing and see what the Bearcats had to offer.

"Cincinnati was awesome as the coaching staff was great," said Tranquill. "Coach (Tommy) Tuberville is a former Auburn coach and my parents are both Auburn alumni. So it was cool to meet him having grown up an Auburn fan.
