The second loss of the season for the Bearcats marks the first in conference play and creates a sense of urgency for the rest of the year. Where does this football team go from here?
The next opponent on the schedule is winless Temple who will also be a team desperate for a win. This game will be played in the friendly confines of Nippert where the Bearcats play extremely good football. This should be a good bounce back game and one that can get this team back on track.
After Temple, Cincinnati plays an 0-4 Connecticut team who has been less than impressive so far this season. However, if South Florida taught Coach Tuberville and Cincinnati anything it is that records don't mean much once you get between the lines.
If the Bearcats can take care of business in those two games they will be 2-1 in conference play with a chance to make some noise. After UCONN they play Memphis and Southern Methodist who have a combined record of 2-7 so far this year.
If the Bearcats can get the offense straightened out they have a good chance to make a run as the tough part of the schedule approaches.
That tough part of the schedule finds Cincinnati playing the three toughest opponents in the conference. They must go on the road to Rutgers and Houston before the big matchup with #8 Louisville to end the season.
Their is no doubt it will be tough considering the Bearcats have played sloppy football the last few weeks but they have an opportunity to start winning some football games. If they can string together a couple of wins and pull it together, this team has enough talent to be one of the top teams in the AAC at the end of the season.
