Cincinnati Bearcats curse to victory this afternoon over the Mountaineers in another Global Sports Shootout game. Like the football team, the Bearcats basketball team defense held their opponent at bay, holding the Mountaineers to only 29.2 percent from the field goal.
Freshman guard Caupin made the most of his mintues this afternoon, after Ge'Lawn Guyn went out with a knee injury. He not only finish with a team leading 13 points but also added 4 rebounds and 4 assist running the point.
Defensively the Bearcats had another good performance, forcing the Mountaineers to 14 turnovers. Bearcats added 8 blocks with 7 steals, but didn't have many points off those turnovers. They dominated in the paint scoring and rebounding, scoring 48 points in the paint and grabbing 47 rebounds.
Bearcats hit the court at Fifth Third Arena this Wednesday vs Campbell, which is their last game of the Global Sports Shootout. The Cats look to continue to improve in these early non conference games and be prepared for when conference play comes around.
