Bearcats Stay in Running for Cage

Coming off his official visit to Illinois, local product Daniel Cage remains interested in the hometown program Cincinnati Bearcats. Bearcat Insider caught up with the Winton Woods standout for his thoughts.

Over the years homegrown talent has been a major reason Cincinnati has been one of the more competitive programs in college football. Keeping Winton Woods four-star defensive tackle Daniel Cage at home would be another feather in the cap of head coach Tommy Tuberville.

Cage recently attended the Bearcats battle against Louisville, a school he's also considering and told Bearcat Insider it was a great experience.

"I attended the Cincinnati and Louisville game," said Cage. "Actually, I was treated the best of any game I've been to. They had me on the field before the game talking with the coaches and going in to the locker room to see how they prepare for the game. It was a real good experience."

Now down to five schools that will receive official visits, Cage must decide if he wants to stay close to home.

"I'll be taking an official with Cincinnati," he said. "I've already visited Illinois and will take visits to Louisville, Michigan State and Missouri. As for staying close to home, I'm still debating as I want to stay close to home, but also want to branch out and do my own thing."
