It was just announced today Cincinnati has cracked the Top 10, are now ranked 7th in the AP and USA Today Polls. This new ranking comes after beating Louisville 69-66 last Thursday and Sunday's win over South Florida 50-45. Bearcats are now 21-2 overall, 10-0 in the conference and have a 14-game win streak.
Also announced today Sean Kilpatrick was named AAC Player of the Week, averaging 23.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in the pair of victories last week. In the Louisville match up on Jan. 30, Kilpatrick had a game-high 28 points, 23 of those points coming in the second half, 12 of the Bearcats last 14 to secure the win and going 11-for-11 shooting from the free throw line.
In Sunday's game against USF, he scored a game-high 18 points, while going 6-for-6 shooting from the free throw line. Kilpatrick moved passed both Danny Forston (1,881 points) and Deonta Vaughn (1,885 points) to become third on the UC career scoring list with 1,891 points behind only the legendary Oscar Robertson (2,973 points) and Steve Logan (1,985 points). Kilpatrick leads all scorers in the AAC averaging 19.4 points and has led UC in scoring all but three games this season.
