Cortez Broughton Made The Flip

Last night word was out that DT Cortez Broughton had flipped to UC. He made that official today during National Signing Day.

Cincinnati landed Cortez Broughton in a late flip last night. Broughton a 6-foot-3, 280-pound defensive tackle from Veterans High School (Warner Robins, GA) joins a solid group of linemen.

Broughton talked to Insider about signing day and why he made the late flip.

"I love the surrounding and the coaches but it's a big engineering school," Broughton said. "I feel that Cincinnati would be a great atmosphere for me."

Coach Robert Prunty talked about what Broughton brings to UC program.

"Cortez is a large, interior presence who flashes real polish when watching him on film," Prunty said. "His combination of size, speed and physicality will provide a great foundation for his future success at UC."

Broughton finished his senior year with 58 tackles, 11 for a loss, one sack and also had an interception. In 2013 he was named Class 2AAAA Defensive Player of the Year. Broughton played in the 2009 Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA.
