Brazile: Basketball to Football

Landon Brazile makes the change of sports to land scholarship. Signing him today adds to the list of young defensive linemen in the 2014 class.

Landon Brazile played his high school ball right up 75 North of Cincinnati. The 6-foot-6, 230-pound defensive end out Thurgood Marshall HS (Dayton, OH) is one of the many Ohians in this 2014 class.

Brazile was named DCL Defensive Player of the Year, All-DCL First Team Defense in 2013 and ranked 32nd on Scout.com's 2014 Top 50 Ohio Rankings. He finished the season with 15 sacks, one block punt and one defensive touchdown.

Brazile talked to Insider about his excitement to finally sign his LOI.

"I feel relieved," said Brazile. "Now that I know everything is good. My grades allow me to get into UC. Now I'm focused on finishing this year. I feel good!"

Coach Robert Prunty talked about Brazile transformation from basketball to football.

"Landon is a former basketball player who has only competed on the gridiron for 2 seasons," Prunty said. "His basketball athleticism quickly translated to football and resulted in him being named Defensive Player of the Year in Dayton despite little experience."
