Bearcats seniors Sean Kilpatrick and Justin Jackson lead their team on a second-half comeback. Kilpatrick scored a team-high 26 points, 12 rebounds giving him a double-double and added six assist. Jackson finished with 15 points and six rebounds.
Cincinnati knew coming into tonight's game they would have to grind it out until the end. Connecticut (17-5; 5-4) came out strong in the first half, led by Shabazz Napier who finish with 16 points on the night. Huskies would took a 10 point lead late in the first half over the Cats.
Huskies had two other players reach double figures, Lasan Kromah finished with 13 points and Niels Giffey with 10 points. As the Huskies took a lead 31-26 into halftime.
UC finally grabbed hold of the lead at the 7:33 mark of the second-half on a Jackson layup. Bearcats went on a 13-4 run during that rally. Jermaine Sanders would knock down two free throws with 18.5 seconds left, giving UC a 61-58 lead.
Huskies Giffey would try one last three point attempt but missed. Kilpatrick would come down with the bound, was fouled and made the two free throws to seal the deal.
