Cooper Hits Bearcats Radar

Westerville Central defensive tackle Ben Cooper received offer from Bearcats. Cooper is fairly new to the UC radar of prospects. Cooper talks to Insider about offer and following the foot steps of his big brother and family.

Westerville (OH.) Westerville Central High School defensive end Ben Cooper is someone new to the UC scene, today he picked up an offer from Cincinnati. Cooper now has to official BCS offers which include UC and Kentucky.

"I'm glad they offered me," Cooper said. "UC looks like a good school to go to."

Cooper is 6-foot-3, 300-pounds, finished the season with 60 tackles and four sacks for Westerville Central. Cooper has some big shoes to fill in his family of athletes, his father played running back at Ohio State and played in the NFL for the Green Bay Packers. Sister Shaniquwa Cooper played collegiate volleyball at UAB, while his brother George Cooper played tight end at Georgia Tech and one-year in the NFL splitting time with the Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons.

"It makes me a little nervous," explained Cooper. "I have big shoes to fill if I follow in my brother's foot steps but it never easy following in your family's foot steps."

Cooper left Insider and Bearcat Nation with this message about himself, when asked what should fans know about him?

"They should know that I work hard to be the best that I can be and they would never see me back down from a challenge," said Cooper.
