Cincinnati commit Gary Clark has been receiving a lot of attention from his opponents trying to shut him down. The 6-foot-7, 205-pound Clark is finishing up his senior year at Clayton HS (Clayton, NC) in spectacular fashion.
Clark has been putting great numbers all season. He scored a career-high 40 points with 12 rebounds against East Wake Warriors on Jan. 10th. Clark scored a triple-double, 22 points, 18 rebounds and 10 blocks in a 73-62 win over Durham Hillside Hornets helping advance his team in the NCHSAA 4A Tournament.
National Recruiting Analyst Brian Snow on Gary Clark: "Gary Clark is putting up huge numbers in North Carolina, " he said. "In North Carolina things are split up between public and private schools and the vast majority of talent is in the private schools."
"Gary Clark plays in the public but he's still putting up numbers," Snow added. "Talking big time...big time numbers and he's showing improvement getting a lot of stuff done. He's gonna be a John Williamson type and he's having tremendous senior season."
"He'll have a chance to make a impact, losing Rubles and Justin Jackson there's gonna be a lot of minutes up for grabs and he's gonna have a chance," Snow explained. "He's gonna have to beat out some talented players but he'll have a chance to make an impact, that's one thing that's there for him giving the departure of guys who are currently on the roster."
Clark scored 15 points with 15 rebounds in a 61-51 victory over Broughton in the boys 4A sectional final on Friday Feb. 28th. Clark and his team have advance to the Eastern semifinals against Apex on Friday night at Fayetteville's Crown Coliseum.
