Cincinnati added 6-foot, 210-pound linebacker Jordan Griffin of Armwood HS (Seffner, FL) to their 2015 list when he was offered just last week. Griffin holding offers from UCF, FIU, Marshall and more, is happy to add this offer.
"It was big for me," he said. "I know UC is a good school with a great program, so getting an offer from them meant a lot for me. Coach Tommy Tuberville came down and I was able to talk to him in person, so that was pretty big for me."
Griffin joined teammate Aaron Covington, who also received an offer from UC. Asked what that meant for his school and it's program?
"It shows that we have a special team," Griffin explained. "It's not just a regular program, our coaches they work us hard just like a college. Down here we put out athletes."
Griffin racked up 90 solo tackles, 150 total tackles, 13.0 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks, 2 interceptions and 2 touchdowns in his junior season for Armwood. Griffin told Insider that's the type of player you could get on the field.
"You can except somebody that's gonna go out there play fast, physical, go out there and make plays on Saturday's," said Griffin.
Fast and physical is how Griffin likes to play and what he saw in UC's defense. "I like the type of defense they run. I was able to catch a few games on TV. I saw the way they played fast and physical, so I like that about a defense," he said.
Griffin is looking forward to visiting UC's campus in the future, "I do hope one day to get up there to visit soon. I haven't set up anything yet but I am trying too."
