Three-Star LB Caban Gets UC Offer

Smiths Station (AL) High School linebacker Amonte Caban is making his name know from his small Alabama town. Caban is a 6-foot-2, 210-pound athletic linebacker and is known as a big-hitter. Insider caught with the newly offered linebacker to discuss his latest pick up.

When you finish your junior season with huge numbers your bound to create a buzz in the recruiting world. Amonte Caban of Smiths Station (AL) HS has done just that, finishing with 140 total tackles, 11 for loss and rushing for 8 touchdowns. Yesterday Caban received his latest offer from Cincinnati, he's impress with the fact they found him in small town Smiths Station (AL).

"I do find it impressive that they did find me in a very small town in Alabama from so far away. But I guess that's how recruiting is ha," Caban said. "This means a lot, it really shows how much my name is out there. It's a great opportunity to see more colleges and what they have to offer."

With the UC offer added to his growing list heading into the spring, he's currently holding offers from South Alabama, Alabama State, Mississippi State, Troy, UAB and Louisville. Caban spoke about his current recruiting process to Insider.

"The recruiting process has been well and very successful picking up several offers including Cincinnati. Just been a great experience."

So many offers on the table Caban is trying to find the right time to make a visit to UC's campus. "They have junior day on the (March) 29th but I'm going to South Carolina, so I'm going to try to get up there another time."

With the his senior year approaching and new coach coming in at Smiths Station HS, Caban looks to do big things. "Heading into my senior season I look forward to big things; a great season," he said. "With the new head coach we are mixing it up a little so very excited about that. I do want to improve my forty time and just gain more weight. just get better as an overall player."
