Bearcats Land Signing Day Surprise

With a name like Lyndon Johnson you would think it would be hard to stay hidden during the recruiting process. However, Tommy Tuberville and his staff did a great job of keeping a low profile recruiting the Holmes Community College product.

A signing day surprise for Cincinnati came in defensive lineman Lyndon Johnson of Goodman (MS) Holmes Community College. A huge young man at around 6-foot-7, 285-pounds, Johnson visited Cincinnati with Holmes teammate Traver Jung and left impressed with the Bearcats.

Over the course of the past few months the Bearcats stayed in contact with Johnson as other teams worried about his academic standing. However, once word got out that Johnson would make it, SEC programs started to circle back with Mississippi State and Mississippi both looking to lure Johnson their way.

Cincinnati’s constant contact looks to have helped them in landing a player that can help along the defensive line in the future.
