Cincinnati head coach Tommy Tuberville didn't mix any words following the Bearcats latest practice at Camp Higher Ground on Tuesday morning. Tuberville stressed he paid more attention to the wide receivers during practice as the coaching staff has pushed what many consider the Bearcats strongest position group on the field heading in to the 2015 season.
Tuberville said he's looking for members of the Bearcats wide receivers to step forward as leaders as they've received plenty of press clippings over the past few months.
Tuberville also spoke about a couple of young players that have stepped forward on defense to secure possible major roles once the season starts in a few weeks along with giving a few updates on some of the bumps, bruises and soreness his team is suffering from since their long scrimmage on Saturday afternoon.
Practice on Tuesday morning was brisk and while the scrimmage gave the team a chance to do major full pad on full pad contact work, Tuberville looked on as position groups battled each other in one-on-one contact drills. Especially the work between the Bearcats offensive and defensive lines after many felt the offensive line came out flat early in Saturday's scrimmage.
Bearcat Insider will also have comments coming from offensive coordinator and running backs coach Eddie Gran following practice as he talks about the battle at running back and how the offense is looking with the season still a few weeks away and a few more player one-on-one interviews.
