J.T. Smith is giving the Bearcats offensive game balls for their performance against the Huskies

BCI is back at it giving out offensive game balls for the Bearcats latest performance against the Connecticut Huskies on homecoming weekend. Let’s check out who the top performers were this week.

This week I could’ve given the ball to pretty much the whole offense as they mashed the Huskies defense for 612 yards. The Bearcats bounced back in a big way to get their record to 4-3 and score their first win in conference this season.

Let’s see who received game balls.

Game ball number one: Gunner Kiel, quarterback- 26/35 for 327 yards and 2 touchdowns, 5 carries for 10 yards and 1 touchdown

When we saw Kiel trot out on the field we didn’t know what to expect, but he carved UConn’s defense like Thanksgiving turkey spreading the ball out to every receiver on the roster and only getting sacked once in the process. Will coach Tuberville stick with Gunner for the rest of the season?

Game ball number two: Michael Boone, running back- 13 carries for 117 yards and 3 catches for 17 yards

I first want to say just get this kid the ball man. The team has a whole ran for 285 yards, but Boone set the tone early whenever he touched the ball. He is a threat from anywhere on the field and the Huskies had no answer for him. With each carry he seems to be getting closer to his old self. Eddie Gran feed him for the rest of the season, please!

Game ball number three: D.J. Dowdy, tight end- 2 catches for 55 yards and 1 touchdown

Before you look at me crazy I know I could’ve given the third ball to Shaq Washington, but I want to show the tight end position some love. Dowdy made two big plays including a 26 yard touchdown on a perfect middle screen play in the first quarter. He has come on as of late and has given the Bearcats another weapon in the arsenal.
