The Cincinnati Bearcats steamrolled UCF at Nippert Stadium 52-7 as Gunner Kiel and Shaq Washington had big days.

The Cincinnati Bearcats moved to 2-2 in the American Athletic Conference as they ran through the Knights on Saturday afternoon in front of the home crowd. It was good to see this team not get trapped by the known trap game on Saturday.

The Bearcats started off fast and furious (no pun intended) as jumped all over the Knights. The Knights had to feel like they got hit by a train soon as the game started.

Gunner Kiel went a perfect 8 of 8 for 162 yards and 3 touchdowns in the first half. Hayden Moore even got into the act in the first half as he went 8 of 11 for 115 yard 1 touchdown and 1 interception. UC had 402 total yards in the first half and held UCF to 161.

UCF didn’t have much to build on in the first half, but they did have two solid drives that resulted in a missed a field goal and a turnover on downs. They made the Bearcats defense look like a pro team and their own defense looked like a high school team with all of the blown coverage’s and big plays given up.

UC went into the half up 35-0.

Nothing changed in the second half either except that wide receiver Shaq Washington broke the Bearcats receptions record pulling down 8 grabs to pass three great receivers (Gilyard, Goodman and Vann). If you want to complain about one thing the defense who played masterful allowed the Knights to score one touchdown.

Everybody on the offense and defense had a great game. I don’t think the offensive line allowed a UCF player to touch the quarterback whoever it was.

Total yards were lopsided as expected 726 to 313.

Kiel finished a perfect 15 of 15 for 319 yards and 5 touchdowns for an astounding 388.6 quarterback rating.

UC won 52-7.

This game is great for the boys in Clifton because they have Houston on the road next week so going down to Texas with a two game winning streak and 5-3 overall and 2-2 in the conference is exactly what they needed.
