The Bearcats backs were against the wall because of a loss last week against Temple at home. They couldn't afford to lose two in a row and especially with both being at home.
The Bearcats dominated the Golden Hurricane and pushed their record to 11-4 overall and 1-1 in the AAC. As I wrote in my recap earlier Farad Cobb and Gary Clark stood out the most this afternoon even though the team effort as a whole was great.
It was fitting at the end of the night we got to speak with Clark and Cobb because their play truly helped spark the Bearcats on Saturday. Clark had 7 points on 3 of 6 from the field, 1 of 2 from the free throw line, 14 rebounds (8 offensive rebounds), 4 assists and 1 block. Cobb had a game high 21 points on 8 of 14 from the field, 5 of 7 from three, 4 rebounds (1 offensive rebound), 2 assists and 2 steals.
Clark and Cobb's aggression on defense really helped make UC's life on offense a lot easier. If this team can keep up this aggression the Bearcats will be in a good place during conference play.
