Trinity Valley Juco (TX) offensive tackle Blake Yager commits to Cincinnati

Bearcat Insider spoke with Blake Yager after having visiting Cincinnati less than a few weeks back. The Trinity Valley (TX) lineman committed to the Bearcats on Wednesday to complete his journey back to Division I football. BCI was able to speak with Yager after he said he will be playing in Clifton during the 2017 season.

Blake Yager committed to the University of Cincinnati on Wednesday. It was his football career coming full circle, the former Ball State commit had to transfer to Trinity Valley due to being grey shirted, hind sight 20/20 that Ball State staff that recruited him was fired and with hard work he will be playing for the Bearcats next fall.

Yager is a man of faith and comes from a family that believes in the power of prayer and after his visit less than two weeks ago all the signs kept pointing back to Cincinnati for the Fort Wayne, Indiana native. Yager is super excited his family especially his father will be able to make the three and half hour commute and maybe able to make some road games because of the closer distance.

Yager talks about his excitement on accepting the UC offer.

It’s a blessing man, to have the work ethic and talent that I have to be able to prove everybody wrong after failing at Ball State is a blessing,” said Yager. “I’m going to be able to play for a head coach who is a potential hall of famer in Tubs (Tuberville) and an offensive line coach (J.B. Grimes) who has put over 60 linemen in the NFL, talking about excited.”

How can you not root for a kid like Yager he had a lot of chances to give up, but he didn’t and now he will be wearing black and red during the 2017 season.
