Bearcat Insider was able to catch up with senior offensive guard Idarius Ray after the Bearcats fifth practice. Ray took some time out after finishing the their first full padded practice, check out what he had to tell Bearcat Insider!

Bearcat Insider talked with senior offensive lineman Idarius Ray following a recent practice. Ray is looking to make a big impact on the field and leading the team to a successful season. Here’s what he had to say:

Bearcat Insider: What do you like and dislike about camp Higher Ground?

Ray: “I really don’t have any dislikes, it’s apart of it. You have to come out here and get it done if you want to be great. The main thing I like about Higher Ground is that everything is connected, you’re able to walk from one place to another. You don’t have to worry about getting a ride or anything like that.”

Bearcat Insider: It being your last year, what are your goals for this season?

Ray: “My personal goals are working on my technique and thinking like a pro. I want to come out here and work my technique every day.”

Bearcat Insider: How does it feel to be running with first team?

Ray: “It feels good, but with starting comes more responsibilities. You have people looking up to you, therefore you have to be harder on yourself. They expect more of you when you start, so you have to be more accountable.”

Bearcat Insider: Do you feel like you’re a leader?

Ray: “I definitely feel like I am a leader. I have more experience on the field and like I said before the guys look up to me, therefore I have to lead by example.”
