Bearcat Insider caught up with redshirt freshman cornerback Christian Angulo, following practice #11 at camp Higher Ground. Angulo is pleased with his performance during the first preseason scrimmage and he is also pleased with the entire defense performance. He’s looking forward to being an impact player on defense. Check out what he had to say:
Bearcat Insider: How do you think you did at Saturday’s scrimmage? And how do you think defense overall performed at the scrimmage?
Angulo: “I think I performed really well. I was playing fast, playing with aggression, and playing with passion. As a whole, we were flying to the ball. Guys making plays and playing confident.”
Bearcat Insider: What kind of goals do you have set for yourself this season?
Angulo: “Getting to that starting role, being an impact player for the defense, and make plays whenever they are presented.”
Bearcat Insider: In a few words, describe the wide receivers on the team.
Angulo: “They’re young, so I feel like they have a lot of room to grow. They’re going to be really good once they get a feel of the game.”
Bearcat Insider: Any games this season you are looking most forward to?
Angulo: “The Houston game, the University of South Florida game, just because I’m from Tampa, and the University of Central Florida game because it’s in my home state.
Bearcat Insider: What do you like about camp Higher Ground and what do you dislike?
Angulo: “It’s like a football vacation, strictly focused on football and away from everything else. You learn a lot more, you’re more focused, you’re with all your teammates and you’re able to build a bond. There’s no service out here, which is terrible.”
