Bearcats senior Sione Tongamo ready to play hard this season.

BCI caught up with senior defensive tackle Sione Tongamoa following practice #13 and Bearcats mini scrimmage at camp Higher Ground. Tongamoa talked about camp, the defense performance at their second scrimmage, and more. Check out the full interview!

Bearcat Insider had the opportunity to catch up with senior defensive tackle Sione Tongamoa following Bearcat practice #13. Tongamoa saw action in all but one game last season, making 18 tackles, 3.5 for a loss and three sacks. This season he’s looking forward to making a name for himself and being a big impact defensively. And he just wants to set a good example for the younger guys. Check out what he had to say:

Bearcat Insider: How do you feel camp has been going so far for the team and yourself overall?

Tongamoa: “It’s been going good, the weather is great which has been helping us a lot. Everyone is out here grinding and working hard. I feel like it is going to be a good season.”

Bearcat Insider: Going into your final season with the Bearcats, what kind of goals do you have set for yourself?

Tongamoa: “The kind of goals I have set for myself is actually being there for my team, setting good examples for the young ones, and making a name for myself.”

Bearcat Insider: Are there any games you look forward to playing this season?

Tongamoa: “I’m not going to lie, I am not really picky so I am looking forward to every single one of them. I plan to go hard every single game, no matter what.”

Bearcat Insider: How do you feel defense and yourself did during today’s scrimmage at Camp Higher Ground?

Tongamoa: “I felt like our defense played well. We’ve been working hard. We have a lot of defensive backs out there actually catching interceptions. Overall we did a good job.”
