Bearcat commit Jalen Walker out of Carmel, Indiana enjoyed his visit to Cincinnati

Bearcat Insider was able to speak with Cincinnati Bearcat pledge, Jalen Walker about his visit to Cincinnati, his experience at Saturday's rivalry game against Miami Redhawks, and much more. Walker who is a wide receiver at Carmel High School in Carmel, Indiana is the first member of the Bearcats football 2017 class. Check out what Jalen had to say in his exclusive one-on one with Bearcat Insider.

Bearcat Insider: How did the visit go?

Walker: "The visit was great. I was really impressed with the whole set up and everything about the experience. I really liked their entrance, the smoke, all the fireworks, and the cannon."

Bearcat Insider: Why did you choose the University of Cincinnati to further your education and football career?

Walker: "I went on a visit earlier this year and it just felt like the right fit for me; with all the coaches and the location is close to my family but not too close."

Bearcat Insider: Did you have any other offers?

Walker: " I had offers from Central Michigan, Harvard, and Albany."

Bearcat Insider: What does receiving an offer from the University of Cincinnati mean to you?

Walker: "I was sitting at the computer and coach told me to give him a call, so I called him up and he explained to me the whole situation and that they were going to offer me. It was pretty exciting for my family and I. Everyone was really happy, and just excited for the opportunity."

Bearcat Insider: Did committing early in the year release of a lot of pressure for you?

Walker: "Yes, it was a big relief to know that my plans for the future were all set up and good to go."

Bearcat Insider: Do you know any of the players on the Bearcats football team?

Walker: "I know Gerrid Doaks who is a redshirt freshman running back. I played against him in high school."

Bearcat Insider: Do you plan on making any more visits to Cincinnati before you officially move here?

Walker: "Yes, I'll probably make it up to a few more games and the spring game, just to get back on campus."

Bearcat Insider: How is your season going so far at Carmel High School?

Walker: "It's been going alright. We've hit a little struggle recently but I think we're going to start getting back on track. But it's good and fun for my last season."
